YORK CITY striker Jordan Burrow took his season’s tally to 17 goals, as his late brace finally saw off Ashton United’s dogged challenge.
Burrow netted on 83 and 89 minutes to earn Steve Watson his first home win as Minstermen manager.
Despite going into the game with the division’s worst defensive record, the Robins demonstrated resilience to keep the hosts at bay during a first half in which visiting skipper Luke Ashworth had the two best chances to score.
