STEPHEN Thompson was instrumental as Darlington comfortably recorded their first victory of the season.
He scored twice and assisted Jarrett Rivers for the other goal as the Quakers strolled to victory at Blackwell Meadows.
Having lost at Farsley Celtic on the opening weekend and drawn with Gateshead on Wednesday, the win was a relief for new manager Alun Armstrong, whose team were on top throughout.
