MISERLY York City racked up a third consecutive league clean sheet at Bootham Crescent for the first time in four-and-a-half years.
Andy Bond’s longrange, 56th-minute strike wrapped up the win over Brackley to send the Minstermen to the top of the table.
Having signed off last season with a 1-0 triumph over Telford in front of their own fans and drawing 0-0 against Farsley Celtic in midweek, the result completed a hat-trick of home shut-outs for the first time since March 2015, when they were in League Two.
