THE battle between third-bottom and third-top went the way of lowly Blyth Spartans at Croft Park.
Farsley made the trip to Northumberland as the form side in the division but fell to a surprise defeat to Lee Clark’s side.
After a goalless first-half, Robbie Dale put the Spartans ahead before Callum Roberts netted from the spot.
The home side started well with Roberts firing over in the 16th minute for an improved Spartans outfit.
Lewis Hawkins then spurned a good chance for Blyth before Roberts was denied by Kyle Trenerry.
