BLYTH Spartans ended a tough run of games with a heavy defeat against high-fl ying Altrincham.
It was a fi fth consecutive loss for a Spartans side that remain in the bottom two.
For the Phil Parkinson’s Robins, who lost in the North East on Tuesday at Spennymoor, it was a welcome away success.
The visitors went ahead midway through the half as the lively Josh Hancock fi red home a 20-yard free-kick.
Jordan Hulme was then brought down inside the box but Zach Hemming saved his 34th minute spot-kick.
