AN OWN goal in the sixth minute of added time by Gateshead’s Louis Storey denied the Heed the points they deserved, but brought joy to injury-ravaged Chester.
Gateshead will be kicking themselves for not turning their territorial advantage into more than a 56th-minute thunderbolt from Robbie Tinkler.
Adam Campbell, Owen Bailey and Matty Jacob all spurned golden opportunities for the visitors, while player-manager Mike Williamson brought out a top-drawer save with a bullet header from home keeper Louis Gray.
