YORK City were victorious in the ‘City Wall Derby’ with Mark Beck’s headed goal the difference at the LNER Community Stadium.
The Minstermen went into the game knowing a win could send them into the play-off places and started brightly after a close-range Clayton Donaldson strike was cleared off the line on seven minutes.
Pete Jameson then produced a spectacular diving save to deny former York man Jack Redshaw’s dipping effort from outside the area.
