MANAGERLESS Blyth Spartans ended a run of nine straight defeats that brought the sacking of manager Michael Nelson earlier in the week with a priceless and narrow victory over fellow strugglers Guiseley.
Micky Barron took interim charge for a scrappy encounter that was settled by Sean Reid’s 61st-minute goal, shortly after Blyth goalkeeper Alex Mitchell had denied Jordan Thewlis from the penalty spot.
