BLYTH Spartans slumped to a fourth straight defeat as Kettering held on to the final play-off place at a blustery Croft Park.
Spartans pressed the self-destruct button in the second minute as they tried to play from the back.
Toby Lees had his pocket picked by Callum Stead, who accepted the gift to score his first for the Poppies.
Blyth were all at sea early on and only a crucial Jordan Watson challenge prevented Jordan Crawford from doubling the lead after Stead had again won possession.
