YORK strengthened their grip on a play-off spot as they secured victory in a Yorkshire derby at Farsley.
The Minstermen had to stave off numerous chances from the plucky Celts early doors, but second-half strikes from Clayton Donaldson and Lenell John-Lewis ensured City remain in sixth place.
The visitors were dealt an early scare inside two minutes as Jacob Gratton rifled a brilliant strike into the top corner, but the loan Rotherham forward was denied by the offside flag.
