THIS physical battle promised more than it finally delivered with both sides dangerous going forward in a compelling opening half-hour.
But the goal-threat diminished after the break with proceedings interrupted by a lengthy delay resulting from a head injury sustained by Chorley striker Jack Sampson who was attended to by medical staff from both clubs before being stretchered from the field.
