FINLEY SHRIMPTON levelled for Spennymoor in first-half stoppage time to cancel out Christian Norton’s opener.
Both sides lacked creativity, and as such neither keeper was seriously tested, apart from the moves that led to the brace of goals.
Chester had the few early chances that evolved, Elliott Whitehouse fired over from 18 yards, then Tom Peers curled an effort from 15 yards wide of the upright.
