The NLP‘s Star Game in the division sees them face Chorley, who lost at home to Scarborough Athletic on Tuesday. Scunthorpe won at Needham Market thanks to Danny Whitehall’s late penalty.
Curzon Ashton, Kidderminster Harriers and Buxton are the others with nine points on the board. Curzon are at Brackley Town, who lost at Kidderminster on Tuesday night. Kiddy travel to Warrington Town and Buxton are at Peterborough Sports, who registered their first point midweek at Hereford. The Bulls remain unbeaten, they’ll look to extend it at Southport, who were sunk by Greg Taylor’s double for Spennymoor in the week.
Scarborough Athletic and Farsley Celtic have made bright starts. They meet today, Farsley stormed past Marine 3-0 on Tuesday, completing the scoring by the 34th minute. Scarborough are the division’s top scorers with eight already.
Oxford City are looking for their first win under Sam Cox. South Shields make the long trip south but in good spirit after Tuesday’s success over Warrington, their first three points of 2024/25.
Promoted trio Marine, Radcliffe and Needham Market are each searching for their first Step 2 wins. The latter two face each other while Marine are home to King’s Lynn Town. Lynn consigned Rushall Olympic to a third loss, only they and Needham Market are yet to claim a point. Rushall are home to Spennymoor Town.
The remaining games see Darlington host Leamington and Alfreton Town face Chester. Declan Weeks and Charlie Caton were on target for Callum McIntyre’s side on Tuesday to see off Radcliffe.
