A SPECTACULAR Will Hatfield goal gave injury-hit Darlington their first win of the season, but a failure to be more clinical meant a tense wait for the final whistle.
They were without five players against Leamington, and gave a debut to loanee Oli Thompson, who joined from Gateshead.
He combined well with Scott Barrow down the left, advancing into shooting position and forcing Callum Hawkins into a first save.
