TEN-MAN Mariners claimed a memorable victory against high-flying King’s Lynn.
A win could have sent Adam Lakeland’s Linnets top, however, after a strong opening five minutes, they allowed Shields to dominate and an excellent chip into the box from Newcastle academy graduate Lucas De Bolle was soon headed home by Paul Blackett. Blackett, who had several other chances in the following minutes, then acrobatically fired a close-range 37th-minute volley over Dave Jones’ crossbar.
