SCUNTHORPE UNITED and Alfreton Town traded long balls, but little else in a dour affair that ended in a goalless draw.
The visiting Reds will have been the happier team to pick up a point, with the home side leaving the field to a chorus of boos.
Iron boss Andy Butler said: “Alfreton made it a fight and we lacked quality today. I don’t want to say it was a good performance because we can play better than that. Ultimately, we have to be better.”
