GOSPORT waved goodbye to the National League South with a narrow defeat at the hands of bogey side Whitehawk with a late penalty settling a lively contest.
Boro took the lead a minute before the break,
Ben Wright’s deflected free-kick deceiving Lucas Covolan and creeping in. But the visitors were level within five minutes of the restart. A long ball found the feet of the ever- dangerous Danny Mills and his neat turn and shot brought the leveller.
However, it was Gosport who then restored their lead.
