Sheringham spoils Coventry’s big day

CHARLIE SHERINGHAM scored the only goal at Rookery Hill as Hemel Hempstead Town edged a game marking John Coventry’s tenth anniversary in charge of hosts East Thurrock.
The livewire son of former England striker Teddy made the most of acres of space to strike the ball home from a central position on 26 minutes.
This was the only bit of clinical finishing in a drab game where the visiting Tudors were marginally the better side.
While the Rocks had made a bright start, it petered out after about five minutes.
