LEAGUE One leaders Shrewsbury Town are an advert in motion for the untapped talent available in Non-League.
Paul Hurst, Craig Disley’s former Grimsby manager, and mine, has overseen the surprise of the season so far, by giving a platform to a host of players determined to grasp the opportunity they’ve been given. Among them are former Mariners Jon Nolan, Aristote Nsiala, Alex Rodman and Lenell John-Lewis.
“It just shows you,” Disley says, “if you get players with a good work ethic, who know their jobs, they can make the step up.”
