RHYS MURPHY’S penalty on the stroke of half-time ensured Chelmsford City finally got up and running at the expense of ten-man Bath.
Murphy slotted home his fourth goal in five games after he had been dragged down in the box by Bath’s Robbie Cundy, who was then shown the red card by referee Steven Hughes.
It was no less than the Clarets deserved after dominating the opening half.
They came close to an opener on 15 minutes when Chris Whelpdale’s low strike was blocked by Murphy, but Anthony Church’s reaction effort flew over.
