ST ALBANS CITY had to hang on to see off Slough Town in an entertaining game at Clarence Park.
The visiting Rebels took the lead with just ten minutes on the clock when Matty Stevens was teed up on the edge of the box and saw his strike take a heavy deflection and fly past home keeper Dean Snedker.
That proved to be Slough’s only real opening of the first half and it was Saints who dictated most of the play.
They should have levelled things up when Khale Da Costa burst through the defence, but the forward was denied by the legs of stoppe...
