IF PREPARATION really is key, as they say, then Southport boss Liam Watson would have every reason to be knocking on the owners’ office door this week.
Watson’s side have been handed a dream FA Cup third round home tie with Premier League giants Tottenham Hotspur on January 5 if they can put paid to Merseyside rivals Tranmere Rovers in next Monday’s replay.
“Spurs are playing at Barcelona in the Champions League on Tuesday night, I think that must be worth a trip to the Nou Camp for a scouting mission,” joked the Sandg rounders boss.
