TORQUAY equalled a club record eighth consecutive league victory as they beat Gloucester City to remain top.
United edged ahead on nine minutes in slightly fortuitous circumstances when Tigers’ right-back Joe Hanks inadvertently turned a cross from United leading scorer Jamie Reid into his own net.
Moments later, Gloucester threatened an equaliser as Isaac Pearce hit the top of the bar with a cross- cumshot.
