BILLERICAY started the second Harry Wheeler managerial era by completing the double over Welling, and keeping a first clean sheet in eleven games.
A tight first half had few clear chances but the referee had to call the captains together for a ‘calm down’ pep talk.
The hosts’ Adam Coombes headed a corner just wide and Kieran Cadogan shot was deflected wide.
Then Coombes’ 20thminute free kick was parried by Wings keeper Dan Wilks and Charlie Wassmer hit the rebound over.
