ST ALBANS came out on top in a hard-fought clash thanks to Sam Merson’s penalty.
The Saints enjoyed the better of the opening exchanges and were denied an opener by the woodwork after Tom Bender’s header crashed off of the woodwork.
The only goal of the game came in the 18th minute when Merson stepped up from the penalty spot after Luke Wanadio had been adjudged to have sliced down Zane Banton.
