AN EIGHT-goal thriller kept the crowd on their feet despite the inclement weather, but a share of the points was the right result.
Tonbridge made a bright start with Jared Small delivering tempting crosses from the right, and Joe Turner cutting in from the left and unleashing some venomous shots.
Nevertheless, Oxford grabbed the lead. A misplaced header from the Tonbridge midfield put in Elliot Benyon on the inside right channel and the forward’s fierce shot beat Angels’ keeper Jonny Henly on 31 minutes.
