TOM DERRY netted the only goal as Slough Town got their season off to a winning start at the expense of Chelmsford City.
Derry converted Max Worsfold’s 64th-minute cross to earn the Rebels victory from a tense affair at Arbour Park.
Chelmsford went close to opening the scoring early with Charlie Sheringham hitting the post with a header.
After the break, the Rebels began with the greater intent, but City grew into the game.
