■ ADE SHOKUNBI scored the only goal for Welling United against a Braintree Town team that will probably be aggrieved to have come away empty handed.
It was probably the one moment of true quality in a game that was scrappy and at times feisty as both teams looked for a vital win to start clawing their way up the National League South table.
The visitors started strongly and Harry Hope had a shot beaten out by Jack Sims. Correy Davidson launched a shot over and Nathan Bertram-Cooper was unable to keep his header down as Braintree looked the livelier with their direct football.
