AT HALF-TIME, Havant & Waterlooville manager Paul Doswell bravely made three early substitutions. His side switched on the second-half power to blow away Braintree and re-ignite their play-off bid.
Braintree enjoyed the best of the early play, and the Hawks keeper was well beaten by a free kick from Jean-Baptiste Fischer by a 25-yard free kick that cannoned off the crossbar.
The Hawks defence was run ragged. Stefan Ilic sent Gianni Crichlow racing clear before rounding Ross Worner but dragged his effort just wide.
