A FINE fightback saw Dover Athletic defy their critics and earn a deserved opening-day point. They were 2-0 down inside 20 minutes against one of the promotion favourites, having only avoided relegation on the final day last term.
One of many Whites debutants, Chevron McLean, scored an own goal in largely wet and gloomy conditions at Crabble with four minutes played, and skipper Asa Hall then doubled the Gulls lead.
