CHELMSFORD City won at home for the first time since August as they beat an in-form Torquay side who were missing a number of key players.
City took the lead through a powerful header from defender Luke Jenkins after just three minutes as he nodded in Samir Carruthers’ corner.
The Clarets could have doubled their lead after seven minutes when Charlie Ruff fed Freddie Hockey and the teenage forward curled his effort onto the bar and it bounced back for Mark Halstead to collect.
