DOWNES ON UP AFTER FIRST WIN

THREE goals in the space of six minutes early in the second half helped to inspire Torquay United to their first win under Aaron Downes’ interim spell in charge.
Dartford, who have appointed Ady Pennock as manager, enjoyed the better of the opening exchanges as Fumnaya Shomotun hit the post in the third minute.
United carved out their first chance when Brad Ash shot wide. A minute later, Gulls’ keeper Mark Halstead denied Luke Coulson before Ollie Tomlinson blocked from Ibby Akanbi.
