Hampton & Richmond Borough have completed the signing of goalkeeper Ted Curd on loan from Chelsea.
The 18-year-old has been on Chelsea’s books for 10 years and signed his first professional contract in February 2023.
He spent the first half of last season on loan at Pitching In Isthmian Premier Division side Hashtag United, keeping four clean sheets in 16 outings.
Curd has represented England up to under 18 level, playing for his country in the Under-17 Championship in 2023.
Having made the bench for Chelsea a couple of times last season, the Kingston-born stopper will now spend time on loan with his local National League South side.
Hampton manager Alan Julian, a former goalkeeper, told the club’s official website:
“This is a very exciting signing for us. Ted is a local lad who has been coming to the club to watch games in his spare time, so he already gets what it means to be here.
“His achievements speak for themselves, and the game time he received at Hashtag will have been invaluable, especially in terms of the physicality of non-league.”
