SCOTT DAVIES’ Slough Town defeated last season’s runners-up Chelmsford City thanks to second-half goals from Slavi Spasov.
In doing so, the Rebels extended their undefeated run at Arbour Park to 24 matches in all competitions.
But the visiting Clarets caught Slough cold as early as the seventh minute. Ryan Blackman’s corner was flicked on, with Ruaridh Donaldson claiming the last touch.
Kane Crichlow struck the bar from outside the box, coming close to doubling Chelmsford’s lead.
