A SUPERB hat-trick by the returning Charlie Carter propelled Dorking into the play-offs and condemned Chelmsford manager Robbie Simpson to his heaviest home defeat in his four-and-a-half years in charge of the Clarets.
Charlie Ruff shot just wide of the post after three minutes but Dorking broke away and Dan Gallagher crossed from the right for Carter to sweep the ball home. Dorking doubled their lead when Jordan Norville-Williams’ corner was headed back across goal by Tony Craig and Carter nodded home for his second.
