TORQUAY UNITED overcame a first-minute penalty to dispatch Enfield Town ruthlessly and move within one point of Truro City at the top of the table.
In front of a 1,300-plus crowd, bottom-placed Town had a dream start when Gulls skipper Sam Dreyer yanked down Sam Youngs, who sent James Hamon the wrong way from the spot.
Billy Leonard forced Hamon into a flying save but despite playing arguably their best 25 minutes of the season against full-time opponents, the hosts couldn’t get a crucial second.
