WELLING UNITED clawed their way out of the relegation zone on goal difference as a plucky performance saw them come from behind to gain a deserved point. After a slow start the game came to life on 11 minutes when Freddie Grant’s shot from the edge of the area was deflected behind off a Welling arm, but despite appeals no penalty ensued.
Justice was done as the Luke Spokes corner ended with Hamzad Kargbo opening the scoring. Eight minutes later a Chippenham breakaway ended with Tom Mehew shooting straight at Rhys Lovett.
