A penalty save from Boreham Wood keeper Nathan Ashmore and three quickfire goals – in what Eastbourne Borough boss Adam Murray described as “five minutes of madness” – turned this game on its head in the National League South.
Ashmore’s heroics to keep out George Alexander’s spot-kick lifted Wood.
The home side ruthlessly dominated their promotion rivals with a double from Kwesi Appiah, either side of a Matt Rush effort, all in five blistering second-half minutes.
