IAN Saunders has made a swift return to the game as assistant manager at Sydenhams Wessex Premier outfit AFC Portchester.
Saunders was sacked by Southern League club Winchester City last month after a run of six league games without a win and three consecutive defeats.
The Salisbury-based Army man had been in charge at the Denplan City Ground for just eight months after moving from Hampshire rivals Petersfield Town last July.
