CHALFONT St Peter started their season in disappointing fashion, falling to a home defeat to Thame United.
The Saints made a fast start and led through Gary Burrell’s expertly-guided header and they almost doubled that advantage when Rob Hastings stuck the ball into the net – but it was ruled out for offside.
But that was as good as it got for the hosts as Thame grew in confidence, and the equaliser came midway through the first half through Lynton Goss.
And from there they dominated proceedings, as Tom Ashworth beat the goalkeepe...
