GOSPORT BOROUGH’S steep learning curve in the Premier Division continued despite a vastly improved display against the ten men of Royston.
The new-look Boro side worked hard and kept themselves in contention throughout until substitute Ryan Ingrey settled the contest with four minutes left.
Alex Pike’s side deservedly went ahead after 13 minutes when Alex Przespolewski’s free-kick picked out Ousman Saidy at the far post and his downward header left goalkeeper Joe Welch with no chance.
