BOTH teams kept up their 100- per-cent records at Latimer Park as Kettering eased past a Basingstoke side clearly lacking in confidence.
The Poppies took 24 minutes to open the scoring as skipper Brett Solkhon thundered a header home from a James Brighton free-kick.
Any time Basingstoke threatened the Poppies area, Marcus Johnson-Schuster was usually involved in the attack but could only balloon the visitors’ best chance of the first half over goalkeeper Paul White’s bar.
