MERTHYR could and perhaps should have won by a far greater margin after the match at Penydarren Park turned on a first half red card.
After just three minutes, Farnborough’s Perry Coles capitaised on a mistake by Scott Tancock only to be brought down by the Martyrs defender on route to goal.
Tancock received just a yellow card and Boro’s freekick was cleared.
