BASINGSTOKE made it three league wins in a row against St Ives Town, although they made hard work of it against their feisty visitors.
Ben Wright had already struck a post before Sam Smart produced a calm, clinical finish with his left foot to put the Dragons ahead after nine minutes.
The home side, who enjoyed the majority of the first half possession, doubled their lead 30 minutes later, when Wright delivered a beautiful curling free-kick just inside Ives keeper James Goff’s near post from 25 yards.
