THIS was a game between two sides who produced a very decent advert for Southern League football.
On Merthyr’s 3G surface both sides passed the ball freely and largely cancelled each other out in a first half that had seen Merthyr enjoy the better of things for the first half-hour.
Both Lee Lucas and Ashley Evans had longrange efforts turned away by Salisbury goalkeeper James Hills before the visitors began to get a foothold.
