LEISTON ended Alvechurch’s seven-match unbeaten run.
It was the home side who created the first chance of the game, when defender Joe Jefferd beat Alvechurch keeper Dan Crane to the ball, but saw his header cleared off the line.
Leiston then bundled the ball into the net from a corner, but it was ruled out for a foul.
Crane could only parry Christy Finch’s free-kick leading to George Keys putting the rebound in. Keys then went from hero to villain as he was shown a straight red card.
