EAST THURROCK were able to snatch victory from the jaws of a very ignominious draw with Frankie Merrifield’s goal deep in added time.
It was only the Rocks’ fourth effort on target – other than Merrifield’s 36th-minute penalty and a shot from Sean Bonnet-Johnson as the hosts dominated possession and territory but showed a lack of cutting edge.
The penalty, awarded when Regent’s skipper Matthew Cripps upended Bonnet-Johnson woke most of the crowd from their slumbers after a lethargic opening.
