NUNEATON are still looking for their first point of the new season after suffering a narrow defeat at home to their Cambridgeshire visitors.
The key moments came at the start of the second period as the visitors took an opportunity to open the scoring before Boro failed when they had chances to level.
Brandon Njoku flashed an effort across the face of goal on the halfhour mark for St Ives before Matt Stenson stung the gloves of visiting keeper Edward Brearey with a fizzing effort from outside the box.
