IN A GAME of unremitting intensity, Hitchin grasped the points and were grateful for a penalty save that could well have altered the course of the game.
The Saints were caught cold as early as the second minute when Isaac Galliford eluded all challenges to put Hitchin into the lead.
The response from the visitors was emphatic and provided chances for the outstanding Brandon Njoku and the sprightly Tiago Nassanculo.
With St Ives pushing for an equaliser, they found themselves two goals down when Diogo Gouveia maximised his opportunity.
