BARWELL eventually got the job done against an obstinate Hitchin side, leapfrogging their opponents by two places as a result.
This had all the hallmarks of being a tie that could easily have gone under the radar, with neither club knocking on the door for promotion or, in turn, looking nervously over their shoulder.
